Sherone Ramanah
BA (Hons) International Marketing, 2007
Since RBS London
Within two months of my graduation, I found a job as a CRM
(Customer Relationship Management) Project Leader for KONE Plc in
the UK. KONE is the third largest Elevator & Escalator Company
in the world and is the fastest growing company in the industry. I
work within the UK Marketing Department and I am in charge of
implementing the new Customer Focus strategies and the CRM tool
(Salesforce.com). It is a challenging role but is what drives my
motivation to succeed. I received an Extra Mile award in January
2008 for ‘Passion for Performance’ which recognised my dedication
to my responsibilities and to KONE, and recently won a global CRM
award for a successful implementation of the project in the UK.
Having a RBS London Education
My degree has definitely assisted my career and is still
assisting me professionally. I was short-listed for the job
interview because of my CRM studies. RBS London is one of the only
few business schools in the UK to offer the module.
Studying in an international environment has
further helped to improve my understanding of cultural barriers and
thus enhanced my communication skills. Furthermore the learning
from RBS has given me a strong business background and know-how.
All of which have greatly contributed to increase my confidence and
ability to work in a global business community.
The classes at RBS London were interesting and
useful, with a good balance between theory and practical knowledge.
The lecturers are willing to help you in or outside of class and
office hours. This is not something you will find in other public
universities in the UK. Even after finishing my degree, I have
still received help from the Registry, my tutor and lecturers, and
the Careers, Placements & Alumni Service. Your relationship
with the School does not end the day you graduate; it only gets
stronger and stronger after that. I am really thankful to Richard
Cawley and Anya Nikolina for their support and assistance during
and after my studies at RBS.
I would definitely recommend RBS London to
others. Being a student at RBS London, you have the privilege to
study on a beautiful campus in Regent’s Park. Also the classes are
small, which allows more interaction between the students and the
lecturers. You are not just another student amongst the crowd, you
are a recognised individual. Also the networking should not be
ignored you will have the opportunity to meet many of the leaders
of tomorrow.
