Undergraduate - Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
- At least five GCSE/IGCSE subjects or equivalent with
grades A-C, including Maths and English, and
- Two A levels (A2 Level) at minimum grade C or above*.
Please note we will require three A levels at minimum grade C for
entry from September 2012 onwards.
Alternatively we can accept an A Level
equivalent or one of the following qualifications:
- Four Scottish Highers - at grade C
- Five Irish Leaving Certificates - at grade C
- International Baccalaureate Diploma - with 32 points out of
45
- French Baccalaureat - with 13 out of 20
- European Baccalaureate - with 75% out of 100%
- National Baccalaureate
- Abitur - with 2.5 out of 4
- Maturità/Esame di Stato - with 75 out of
100
- Avgangsbetyg - with mostly VG and MVG grades
- Vitnemål - with 4/5 out of 6
- VWO - with grade 7 out of 10
- Título de Bachillerato - with 6.5 out of 10
- Advanced Placement Exams* - 3 subjects at grade 3, or 2 at
grade 4
- Bagrut/Mechina
- Apolytirion of Lykeio
Or other international qualifications accepted as fulfilling
British University requirements, as recommended by the National
Academic Recognition Information Centre (NARIC).
Note: Students applying with an American High
School Diploma or similar 12-year secondary equivalent, e.g. HAVO,
will normally be required to complete our one-year Business Foundation Course to satisfy the academic
requirements for our BA (Hons) degrees.
* Please note that we may not accept an A Level or AP exam if it
is in the student's native language, i.e. we would not accept an A
Level or AP exam in German from a German student.

English Language Requirements
For those applicants whose mother tongue is not English, we
require a recent pass in any of the following qualifications:
European Union/European Economic Area Nationals
For students who are nationals of the EU/EEA countries and
English is not their native language, we require one the
following qualifications*:
- IELTS score
of 6.0
- TOEFL 80 points in
the internet-based test, 213 in the computer-based version, or 550
in the paper-based test. The TOEFL code for RBS London is
2487.
- Cambridge
Advanced English Certificate grades A-C
- Certificate
of Proficiency in English grades A-C
- Pearson Test of
English with 50 points
- GCSE/IGCSE English Grade C or above
- A Level English Grade C or above
- Minimum Grade 5 in the International Baccalaureate English -
Higher Level or Standard Level A1 or A2 (not B)
- English C of the Avgangsbetyg with a VG or MVG
- English grade 5 or 6 in the Vitnemål
- 75% overall in all English components of the European
Baccalaureate
- EIKEN English test - Grade Pre 1
* This requirement may be waived if the last three years of the
student's education were in English. We reserve the right to
request an English test at our discretion.

Non-EU/EEA Nationals
For students who are non-EU/EEA nationals
and English is not their native language, we require one the
following qualifications in accordance with UK Border
Agency (UKBA) guidelines*:
- IELTS overall
score of 6.0 showing a minimum of a 5.5 pass in all four components
of the test
- TOEFL with 87
points, showing a minimum pass of Reading – 18, Listening – 17,
Speaking – 20, Writing 17 (Please note that the paper-based
TOEFL is not accepted by the UKBA)
- Pearson’s
Test of English with 50 points, showing a minimum pass of
51 in all four components of the test
- Cambridge
Advanced English – Grade C or above in all elements
- GCSE or A Level English at Grade C or above, studied and taken
in the UK on a student visa
* Please note this requirement is not only for academic
purposes, but more importantly to meet the UKBA guidelines for a
Tier 4 student visa.

Transferring Credits to RBS London
RBS London accepts transfer credit from degree standard courses
into the BA (Hons) degree programmes. In order to consider an
application for credit, the Admissions & Exemptions Committee
requires you to apply and supply the following
information:
- Full transcripts of all education officially translated into
English
- Course outline of the programme from which you wish
to transfer
- Course descriptions for all of the courses taken/taking along
with as many marks as are available at the time of application
- A short essay covering motivation and course
choice
