Paul Coldwell

Associate Head of Business, Management and Human Resources
Following graduation, Paul spent 12 years as
an expatriate project engineer and line manager in Southern Africa
working for Anglo American Corporation, a large gold and diamond
mining company. (During this time, he discovered an economically
viable lead zinc mine consequently winning a scholarship to
Imperial College London where he gained an MSc. DIC degree with
distinction 1980.) He achieved Chartered Engineer status in
1981.
Paul returned to the UK and studied for an MBA
degree at Henley Management College in 1986 and subsequently joined
RTZ Corporation in London with responsibility for graduate
recruitment and staff management development. In 1990, part of RTZ
was acquired by Rhone Poulenc of France. Paul was appointed to
consolidate 3 businesses into a new operation and to relocate each
operation to a Greenfield site north west of London. This gave him
hands on experience of corporate restructuring, relocation of
staff, staff redundancy, design and fit out or a corporate
headquarters and harmonisation of employment conditions.
Subsequently, Paul worked at BUPA Health
Services as Training & Development manager. This was followed
by a move to two management consultancies, MCG Consulting Group
& Saratoga Europe. During this 9 year period Paul specialised
in business benchmarking & the evaluation of cost effectiveness
of the HR functions. (During this period, Paul negotiated a public
private partnership with UK local government HR departments in
collaboration with SOCPO. As a result Paul has worked with over 200
local government, fire & police services, food, banking and
aerospace organisations. ) Paul achieved CIPD fellowship status in
2001.
In 2002, Paul commenced his teaching career
gaining a CLTHE through London South Bank University and FHEA
fellowship in 2003. Paul has subsequently taught International HR
Management, Organisation Behaviour, Project & Operations
management at London South Bank, Middlesex, Buckinghamshire
Chiltern & Westminster universities prior to joining the team
at Regents College London where he is currently Associate Head of
Business, Management and Human Resources.
