Useful Information

Here are some important points to remember both when preparing for your time abroad and while you are actually there:

  • Be sure to arrive on time. Get the correct semester dates (either from the institution or the International Partnerships office). RBS London cannot guarantee that institutions abroad will accept you if you arrive late
  • Remember that you are subject to the rules and regulations of your Host Institution. Expect things to be different and be prepared to adapt as necessary!
  • Unless stated otherwise in the institutional information, you must register for 4 business subjects per semester, which must be chosen from the list given to you by the International Partnerships office in your application pack. Course descriptions are available in most cases on the institutions' web sites or from IPO.
  • To pass the Study Abroad Programme overall, you must pass a minimum of 3 out of the 4 subjects that you are registered for unless stated otherwise
  • In most cases, there are people at your host institution who can advise you on finding accommodation. Check on the web site of the institution or ask in the IPO.
  • If you need to arrange accommodation yourself, remember that you will need to allow enough time for this before the start of the semester. In most cases, this would be at least 2 weeks
  • If you need a visa to study abroad, it is YOUR responsibility to make the appropriate application in good time
  • You will ONLY be allowed to register at L300 when we have received confirmation that you have passed your Study Abroad Programme. Prior to us receiving confirmation, you will be allowed to attend classes. However should you fail the Study Abroad Programme you MUST withdraw from classes at RBS  London immediately and consult your Programme Director.
  • If, at any time, you are unsure about any aspect of your Study Abroad Programme, please contact us at ipo@regents.ac.uk.

First Shock Syndrome

At first, it is hard to find yourself in a foreign environment and you will probably feel like a fish out of water Try to integrate as much as possible and your new environment will start making sense to you in no time! Get involved instead of standing on the outside. Make some efforts and you will soon see results!

Help at Home

Let us know if you have a problem. We can't help you if we don't know there is something wrong. We will always answer any email or query you may have.

No Assumptions

Don't assume anything. If you are not sure about what the teacher said, what the requirements are, when the assignment is due or when the exam is, ALWAYS double-check with the relevant person and never go on hearsay. If you need anything, be it information or a book, ask for it. Do not wait until the last minute!

Be resourceful

Most institutions require independence and resourcefulness from their students. You will need to be even more resourceful than the majority of them, as you will find yourself in an environment you don't know. Be prepared to do your own leg work!

"RBS London helped equip me for my career. Through the Design classes on offer, they have opened a new window, changed my way of thinking and my views of design through Business Management. I love living in London because of the accessibility of everything it has to offer and the design, art and fashion it has."
