The module aims to:
Provide an understanding of different responsibilities that need to be addressed when managing a design project, the importance of leadership and project champions.

Illuminate key issues like concept development and how to write a good project brief.

Highlight the benefits of project management when introducing change within creative industries.

Learning OutcomesOn completion of this module, students should be able to:

LO1  Propose solutions to project management situations within a broad context of creative industries.

LO2  Analyse and discuss various processes and specifics of managing a design project within business organisation.

LO3  Negotiate processes and strategies that allow for successful management of creative teams within a global context.

LO4  Demonstrate an ability to utilise various tools to generate successful project concepts and develop design briefs.

LO5  Judge personal ability to become design project leader or champion.

 

PresentationTeaching will be through lectures, guest speaker seminars, in-class tasks and personal tutorials. Particular emphasis will be placed on workshop allowing students to practice in presented scenarios their abilities to manage people and projects within creative contexts.
