Regent's College Teams Do The College Proud in the IBM
Universities Business Challenge
In the 08/09 IBM Universities Business
Challenge all four of Regents undergraduate teams
made it to the national Semi-Finals - a competition
record...
Competing in executive venues at
the Royal Bank of Scotland, Citigroup and British Aerospace
against competing teams from top UK universities.
Our teams finished close to the top
beating several UK universities. Unfortunately only the top placed
team in each semi-final reaches the final stage. However, the
organisers commented on how well all Regents teams (with students
from both RBS and EBS) conducted themselves and competed in a good
spirit.
The experience was invaluable and a
further demonstration of how much Eric Chan (Senior Lecturer and
Business Simulation and Experiential coach) gives of his own time
to both initiate and support these extra-curricula activities.
Additionally, in April, he is accompanying a Regents team (composed
of students from across 4 Schools on the campus) to the Model
United Nations event in New York.
I visited each of our Semi-final
events this year and saw how well our students performed against
some of the UK’s finest students. Our teams can hold their heads
high. It was very clear to me how well respected (and feared!) are
the Regents’ teams, past and present. Next year beckons for all
those interested students.
